How Selectric Works
Local Data Processing
When you link an account or directories on your local computer, Selectric indexes their contents and maintains this index on your local computer. The index is stored using strong encryption key and never leaves your machine.
When you search, the app refers to the index to find relevant matches.
Unlinking an account from the app deletes all its indexed content.
Privacy-safe AI
When you search, Selectric uses either a local AI model (for free users) or a more sophisticated cloud hosted model for Pro users. The local model runs entirely on your computer. When the cloud model is used relevant search excerpts are sent for summarization and are instantly deleted. The contents of your searches, summaries or results are never logged.
